What actually moves the price
Width and height. A 6m sliding gate uses far more aluminium than a 3.5m one, and 1.8m-high gates cost more than 1.2m. Measure first: our driveway measuring guide shows exactly how.
Profile. Picket → slat → blade, cheapest to dearest, on both sliding and swing gates.
Sliding vs swing. Similar gate prices, but sliding adds ~$170 of track gear while swinging doubles need two motors to automate. Site layout usually decides: see sliding vs swing driveway gates.
Automation level. Remotes come with the kits; keypads, intercoms and phone control add cost.
Site works. Footings, concrete for the track, and power to the motor are installation items, quoted per site rather than off a price list.
Supply-only DIY vs installed
Our gates are made to order and bolt together: plenty of Brisbane owners take supply-only and hang a manual gate themselves, which keeps the project close to the material prices above. Two honest caveats: driveway gates are heavy, two-person items, and gate motors involve wiring and setup that’s best left to a pro. For an automated gate, most people are best served by our supply-and-install service: we quote the whole job after a site measure.
